Hello to our Kids In Crisis family,
We hope you and your loved ones are well, as you continue to navigate through this new ‘normal’. At Kids In Crisis, our SafeHaven staff continues to care for our shelter residents. Helpline crisis counselors remain committed to answering calls 24 hours a day. TeenTalk counselors have helped hundreds of students, communicating via phone and email. And in keeping with state guidelines, non-essential staff have found new ways to work as a team and keep the agency running smoothly.
We’re grateful for all who have reached out to help, and to provide virtual hugs. Together, we continue to be here for families and for our community.
Please remember to call our helpline, 203-661-1911, if you or anyone you know is feeling unsettled and would like support and guidance. Please pass along our number to friends and neighbors as well.
While Spring is typically our event season, we unfortunately had to cancel two of our galas; The Spring Fling at Belle Haven Country Club in Greenwich, and Have A Heart at Silver Springs Country Club in Ridgefield. We also have to postpone the Cards For Kids Poker Tournament, Kids Challenge Golf Tournament, and our KIC IT Race Series
The financial forecast for the year is therefore significantly impacted with an estimated loss of $750,000 event revenue as well as an additional $150,000 from our Spring Appeal. Despite these financial challenges, Kids In Crisis remains committed to our mission.
Our Board of Directors is strategically planning ways to raise the funds needed to preserve our operating budget, so that we may continue to meet the needs of our community.
Although these are difficult budgetary times, we know we have to continue to be here for children and families who need and deserve the services provided by Kids In Crisis.
Thank you for your unwavering care and support for Kids In Crisis.
