Kids In Crisis is thrilled to be first-time recipients of a grant from the Ridgefield Thrift Shop in Ridgefield Connecticut, in support of our crisis prevention program TeenTalk. The program has been highly valued at Ridgefield High School for many years, and with increasing support from the town as well as from committed, caring private partners like the Ridgefield Thrift Shop, students at East Ridge and Scotts Ridge Middle Schools will now also benefit from its unique and impactful services.
TeenTalk is a Kids In Crisis exclusively designed program, that places masters level mental health counselors in many Fairfield County middle and high schools. TeenTalk Counselors augment school staff by providing confidential individual, group, and family counseling as well as preventative education and seminars on issues of importance to the health and well-being of young people.
TeenTalk Counselors are specifically trained to identify at-risk students, students flying under the radar and to reach out to students experiencing depression, anxiety, substance use struggles, trauma and conflict related stresses.
