What is a crisis?
The word crisis can mean something different to everyone. Our trained Crisis Counselors help children and families cope with unsafe situations, family conflicts, substance abuse, mental health issues, school problems, and so much more.
Call 203-661-1911. We are here to help you. Whether you’re a child, parent, relative, teacher, therapist, doctor, neighbor, friend, or anyone concerned about the welfare of a child, a Kids In Crisis counselor will answer your call 24 hours a day, every single day of the year.
Working Together to Prevent Crisis
With outreach programs in schools and communities, on and off-site support, and our temporary, therapeutic emergency shelter for children ages 0 – 18, Kids In Crisis is here to help.

Kids In Crisis offers temporary shelter and therapeutic programming for children of all ages.
Professionally trained staff and volunteers deliver an age-appropriate empowerment program for K-5 students in
area schools. Children learn how to recognize and respond to potentially dangerous situations.
Kids In Crisis places specially trained, Masters level mental health counselors in area middle and high schools to
identify and help students who are navigating difficult personal, family and school-related challenges.
A welcoming, inclusive and safe space where lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, questioning (LGBTQ) youth and their allies meet every Wednesday in Stamford.
Safe Place is a national program designed to provide access to immediate help for youth in need. Look for this sign in your community.
